- Calamus
Reservoir. 5123 Acres, 36 miles of Shoreline, Campsites without electricity,
Drinking Water, Restrooms, Picnic/Day Use, Boat Ramps (small fee may apply),
Visitor Information Center. A swimming beach is under construction in the
Homestead Knolls Recreational Area. Other recreational areas include Little
York Point, Valley View Flat, Hannanom Bayou, Nunda Shoal and Buckshot Bay
(great boat ramps!). Located in north central Nebraska on the Calamus River
Calamus Reservoir Information.
- Lake C.W.
McConaughy. 35,700 Acres (when full), 141 feet deep near the dam, Fishing,
Campsites without electric hookup, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use,
Launch Ramps, Visitor Information Center. Several recreational areas are located
around the state's largest lake (which is part of the North Platte River),
including Ash Hollow State Historical Park, Martin bay (Popular for swimming
with a beach), Lake Ogallala and Otter Creek. Lake Ogalla (320 Acres) is located
just below the dam (providing calmer conditions during windy weather and a
5 MPH speed limit). Located just north of Ogallala, Nebraska. Located off
Nebraska State Route 61.
Big Mac Marina.
- Enders Reservoir.
1620 Acres. Fishing, Campsites with & without electric hookup, Restrooms,
Sanitary Dump Station, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use. Features Enders Reservoir
Recreational Area. Camping is available on the east side of the lake. Off
U.S. 6 at Enders Nebraska.
- Harland
County Lake. Fishing, Campsites with and without electric hookup, Showers,
Restrooms, Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp
(small fee may apply), Marina, Fuel, Visitor Information Center. This is the
2nd largest lake in the state featuring excellent spring walleye fishing.
Located about 55 miles south of Lincoln off U.S. 183.
North Shore Marina
- Hugh Butler
Lake. Fishing, Campsites without electric hookup, Restrooms, Drinking
Water, Picnic/Day Use. Located just north of McCook, Nebraska. Off U.S. 83.
- Johnson
Canyon Reservoir. Fishing, Campsites without electric hookup, Restrooms,
Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use. Three recreational areas surround this two
lake area. Located just south of Lexington, Nebraska.
- Lake Maloney.
Fishing, Campsites without electric hookup, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day
Use. Features Lake Maloney Recreational area along the southern edge. Just
five miles south of North Platte, Nebraska.
- Medicine
Creek Reservoir. 1850 Acres Fishing, Beach, Campsites with &
without electric hookup, Showers, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use,
Boat Ramps. Two recreational areas are near the dam at the southeast side
of the lake. One of Nebraska's beautiful recreational spots. Medicine Creek
Lodge offers lodging facilities (private concession) on the south side of
the dam. Located seven miles north Cambridge, Nebraska.
- Merritt
Reservoir. 2906 Acres. Fishing, Campsites with & without electric
hookup, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Sanitary Dump Station,
Launch Ramp. The Samuel R. McKelvie National Forest lies along the north shore.
Snake River Falls lies upstream to the north. Merritt Reservoir recreational
area is on the southeastern shoreline. Located 30 miles southwest of Valentine,
Nebraska (follow signs).
- Platte River.
Fishing, Campsites with and without electric hookup, Restrooms, Drinking Water,
Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramps (along the river). This river runs from Wyoming
to just south of Omaha. There are numerous recreational areas all along the
river including many historical sites. Here are some popular spots: (west
to east starting on the North Platte River) Riverside Park and Zoo in Scottsbluff,
Bridge Port Recreational Area, Lake McConaughy, Buffalo Bill Ranch Historical
Park near North Platte, Ft. Kearney State Historical Park in Kearney, Hord
Lake in Hordville and Fremont and Two Rivers Lakes recreational areas just
west of Omaha.
Platt River State Park
- Swanson
Lake. 4794 Acres. Fishing, Campsites with and without electric hookup,
Showers, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Boat Ramps, Marina, Fuel.
Spring Canyon and Macklin Bay offer modern camping facilities. Located along
U.S. 34 22 miles west of McCook, Nebraska.

- Sherman
Reservoir. 2878 Acres, 65 miles of Shoreline, Fishing, Campsites without
electric hookup, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use. A recreational
area is located on the backside of the dam. Located 6 miles east of Loup City,
Nebraska.
Papio
Creek Watershed.
This area
covers four small lakes near Omaha. Be sure to call
ahead
for horsepower limits.
- Glenn Cunningham

- Standing

- Zorinsky

are small lakes located around the Lincoln area.

- Branchard

- Holms Park

- Lake Minatare

Use, Boat Ramps, Beach. Located 8 miles northeast of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

- Pawnee Lake.

- Yankee Hill

From north to south: Spring, Smith, Cravath, Long, Twin, Peter Long,
Krause,
Sand Hills, Walter, Williamson, Kennedy Lakes (all north of Nebraska State
Route
2) and Hills, Rush, Schoonover, Beck, Mureil, Goose, Bean, Hackberry,
Sandbeach,
Ashburger, Island, Crescent and Blue, (south of Route 2). A farther east
you will
find Round, Cottonwood, Steverson, Sunflower, Mother, Frye, George, Moran,
Spring
Valley, Egan, Haney, Sam Puddin, Three Mile and Diamond Bar Lake (from north
to south
mostly along Nebraska State Route 61).
