New Hampshire has several very scenic smaller lakes ideal for small craft
such as Canoe, a few I have listed below. For motor boating see Lake Winnipesaukee
below.

Blackwater Dam. Not a motor boating stream, but it is very scenic
for canoeing and trout fishing. About 25 miles northwest of Manchester
off New Hampshire State Route 127. Located about 12 miles north of Concord,
New Hampshire off I-93.

Everett Lake. Fishing, Ice Fishing, Snowmobiling, Swimming Beach,
Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Nearby Restaurants. Launch Ramp.
Fed by Hopkinton Lake. Clough State Park lies along the southern end. Located
about 6 miles south of Concord off New Hampshire State Route 13.

First Connecticut Lake / Second Lake / Lake Francis. Part of New
Hampshire's "White Mountain" region. Campsites without Electricity, Restrooms,
Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Sanitary Dump Station. Lake Francis State
Park lies on the north end of First Connecticut Lake. This territory is
home to bald eagles and osprey, moose and bear and few people. Located
off U.S. Route 3.

Highland Lake. 4.3 miles long by up to 1/2 mile wide in spots. Fishing,
Swimming, Boating, unlimited H.P. Camping. Located 3 miles south of Washington
off N.H. State Route 31.

Hopkinton Lake. 220 Acres of shallow water. Recommended only for
Canoeing. Fishing, Ice Fishing, Interpretive Trail, Snowmobiling, Swimming
Beach, Athletic Fields, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Nearby
Restaurants, Hotels and Stores. Launch Ramp. Elmbrook State Park is located
on the North side of this 7 mile long lake. A popular stop for New Concord
Boaters! Located 8 miles west of Concord, New Hampshire off I 89.

Little Bay Lake. Fishing. This 6 mile long lake is located 5 miles
northwest of Portsmouth off U.S. 4.

Mascoma Lake. 1000 acres. Boating, Fishing, Launch Ramps. Located
just off I 89 at Lower Shaker Village.

Massabesic Lake. 2500 acres. Fishing,Boating, NoSwimming,
Launch Ramps, 45 mph limit. Massabasic Lake is part of New Hampshire's
"Merrimack Valley". region. It has two lobes connected by the narrows where
New Hampshire Route 28 crosses it (also the main launch site). Located
off Route 28 Auburn.

Ossipee Lake. 3000 acres. Part of "The Lakes" region. Fishing, Boating,
Ramps (some charge small fees). At Deer Cove (off N.H. Route 16) there
is an excellent ramp available without charge with plenty of parking.
This small but scenic lake is located near the intersection of New Hampshire
State Route 25 and 16.

Otter Brook Lake. 70 Acres, (no motors). Fishing, Ice Fishing, Swimming
Beach, Athletic Fields, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Nearby
Restaurants, Hotels and Stores. Launch Ramp. Great for Canoeing. Three
miles northeast of Keene off New Hampshire State Route 9.

Newfound Lake. 4100 acres. Part of "The Lakes" region. Boating,
Swimming, Beach, Picnic/Day Use, Restrooms, Drinking Water. Launch Ramps
are available now at Wellington State Park. Located 3 miles north
of Bristol off New Hampshire State Route 3A.

Pawtuckaway Lake. 900 Acres. Swimming, Fishing, Beach, Ramps.A 6
mph speed limit is
enforced in the Bay of Fundy area. Located near Nottingham/Raymond
in the Merrimack Valley Region.

Squam Lake. 7000 acres. 40 MPH speed limit day light. Fishing, Ramps.
Squam Lake is divided into two lobes (most people call them Squam Lake
and Little Squam Lake). Located 3 miles south of White Mountain National
Forest near Holderness. The Squam Lake Science Center lies on its
eastern edge.

Lake Sunapee. 4000 Acres. Boating, Fishing, Launch Ramps. One of
New Hampshire's most popular lakes, its one of the largest in the Dartmouth-Lake
Sunapee Region. Publivc Launch Ramps are located on both sides of the lake.
Home of Mt. Sunapee State Park, this lake is located just of I-89 at exit
12.

Surrey Mountain Lake. 260 Acre Lake. 10 H.P. Limit. Fishing, Ice
Fishing, Interpretive Trail, Snowmobiling, Swimming Beach, Athletic Fields,
Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Nearby Restaurants-Hotels and
Stores. Launch Ramp.
Umbagog Lake. 8000 acres. Boating, Fishing, Launch Ramps.
There are dozens of coves on this spread. This large lake lies on the border
with Maine Most of the land on the New Hampshire side is under conservation
easements to protect the marshy habita. Ramps are available off Route 26
at Sargent Cove and just east of Errol off N.H. Route 16.

Lake Wentworth. Fishing, Picnic/Day Use, Restrooms, Drinking Water.
Wentworth State Park lies on the northeastern side. Located just east of
the southern edge of Lake Winnipesaukee near Wolfeborg.

Lake Winnipesaukee. 45,000 acres. Part of "The Lakes" Region. Sailing,
All Boating Sports, Fishing, Ice Fishing, Interpretive Trail, Snowmobiling,
Swimming Beach, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Nearby Restaurants,
Hotels and Stores. Launch Ramps, Marina, Fuel. The most popular inland
lake in New England (Lake was also in the movie "What About Bob"). Sites
around the lake include The Meredith Auto Museum, Libby Museum, Endicott
Rock and the Animal Forest. Several small scenic villages and ski areas
also are located near the lake (2 on the southeastern side) making this
a popular year round destination. This 20 mile long by up to 10 miles wide
lake is located 25 miles north-northeast of Concord along New Hampshire
State Route 11 (can access off I 93 at exit 23).Good Ramping spots include
Melvin Village, Wolfeboro adn Ellacoya State Park.

Winnisquam Lake. 4200 acres. Fishing, Ramps. This is a Long and
Skinny lake just down from Lake Winnipesaukee's Opechee Bay (seperated
by a dam). A laucnh ramp is located on Whipple Ave. in Laconia.
