Lake Anna. Fishing, Campsites with and without electric hookup,
Showers, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use,
Launch Ramp (small fee may apply). This 15 mile long lake features many
scenic coves and forks and is located off U.S. 522 and Virginia State Route
208 at Wares Crossroads (about 35 miles northwest of Richmond.

Lake Chesdin. Fishing. Mostly residential lake located off U.S.
460 11 miles west of Colonial Heights.

Claytor Lake. Fishing, Campsites with and without electric hookup,
Showers, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use,
Launch Ramp (small fee may apply). This 9 mile long lake features Claytor
Lake State Park about 1/2 way down the reservoir. Located off I 81 at Radford.

Flannagan Reservoir (John F.). Fishing, Campsites with and without
electric hookup, Showers, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Launch
Ramp (small fee may apply), Marina, Fuel, Visitor Information Center. Two
recreational areas are located along the lake. Located at the edge of the
scenic Pine Mountains in western Virginia off Virginia State Route 83.

Gaston Lake / Roanoke Rapids. 28 miles long counting both lakes.

Ramp (small fee may apply). Camping is available at Camp Willow Run off
North Carolina State Route 1365. The Roanoke Rapids section is accessible
near the Virginia / North Carolina Border off I 95 in Roanoke Rapids, North
Carolina.

Gathright Dam / Lake Moomaw. Fishing, Campsites with and without
electric hookup, Showers, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Sanitary Dump Station,
Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp (small fee may apply), Visitor Information
Center. This 7 mile long reservoir is located in the Allegheny Mountains
15 miles north of Covington off U.S. 220. (804) 441-7641.

John H. Kerr Reservoir (Kerr Lake). 50,000 Acres. Fishing, Swimming,
Campsites with and without electric hookup, Showers, Restrooms, Drinking
Water, Sanitary Dump Station, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp (small fee may
apply), Marina, Fuel, Visitor Information Center. (919) 251-4192 . One
of the largest manmade lakes in the southeast featuring numerous forks
and coves. Also known for record striped bass catches. Several State Parks
are located all around the lake including Occoneechee on the Virginia side
and Satterwhite on the North Carolina side. On the Virginia side the Staunton
River and the Occoneechee State Park provide campsites along with several
recreational areas. Located along the Virginia / North Carolina State line
off Virginia State Route 4 (accessible from I 85).

Leesville Lake. Fishing, Launch Ramp (small fee may apply). This
7 mile long lake is located next to Smith Mountain Lake 3 miles west of
Altavista near U.S. 29.

North Fork of Pound Lake. Fishing, Campsites with and without electric

Philpott Lake. Fishing, Campsites with and without electric hookup,

Recreational campsites are located at Paint Stone State Park and Jamison
Mill, Twin Ridge and Goose Point recreational areas. Located 10 miles northwest

Smith Mountain Lake. Fishing, Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day
Use, Launch Ramp (small fee may apply), Marina, Fuel. This lake is a popular
recreational site for the boaters and residents in the Roanoke area. The
lake is next to Leesville Lake (divided by a dam) and features many coves
and forks in its 18 miles of length. Beacon Marina Terminal is located
off Virginia State Route 853. The lake itself forms from the Roanoke River
and is located 11 miles southeast of Roanoke off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

South Holston Lake. Campsites without electricity, Fishing, Restrooms,
Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramp (small fee may apply). This
lake features excellent bass fishing and is home of Big Bass Campgrounds.
The lake is 16 miles from tip to tip and lies in the scenic Holston Valley
on the Tennessee border. Located 8 miles east of Bristol, Virginia along
the Appalachian National Scenic Trail off U.S. 421.

James River. Fishing, Launch Ramps (small fee may apply), Marinas,
Fuel. Popular stops include Jamestown, Fort Eustis Fort Monroe (just across
the I 64 bridge from the James inlet) and Busch Gardens ( Busch Gardens
accessible by car ).

MobJack Bay / Cobbs Creek / Rappahannock River / Ingram Bay. Fishing.
Launch Ramps (throughout this region) Marinas, Fuel. Mostly residential
and commercial spots around the shoreline.

Potomac River. Fishing, Campsites without electricity, Fishing,
Restrooms, Drinking Water, Picnic/Day Use, Launch Ramps (small fee may
apply), Marinas, Fuel. Westmore Land State Park is located off Virginia
State Route 3 at Baynesville.

York River. Fishing, Launch Ramps (small fee may apply). Boat ramps
are available near U.S. 33 in West Point. A popular inlet for water sports
and fishing plus commercial traffic feeding Chesapeake Paper Mill.
